#Bedtime stories and light hearted short tales.
As a little Nonya girl, I had a happy childhood in Katong in my grandfather's house. As the only child, I was lonely, though my Ah Kong (grandfather), uncle and my parents doted on me. Sunday's the highlight of my week. That's when the entire extended family congregates at my grandpas. My cousins and I would have a blast. It's only when I grew up and had to face harsh realities in life that I truly appreciated the childhood I had. These short stories, capture the heart of my childhood and precious moments in life that I'll always treasure.
A collection #fun short stories for kids and grown ups.
What happens when a little Nonya girl and the family dog play dress up with Grandma's precious collection of Nonya outfits? (No, it wasn't me. This one's fiction.)
Two little Nonya girls get their hands on enough talcum powder to turn the house into a winter wonderland. (Mum still remembers this, so yeah. We created chaos with talcum powder)
A brave little Nonya foils crooks with the help of a squirrel. (This one's fiction).
Delight in this fun collection of short stories that pay homage to Peranakan culture in Singapore, while ratting out on the childhood shenanigans.
#Elementary School Days.
My late daddy was my teacher but I was no angel. I'm calling this a work of fiction because most of the names have been changed, though the embarrassing events remain. This pays homage to my elementary school which has already closed down. Guillemard East Primary School lives on in our memories and through this book.
